Organic Inquisition

Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 2, 2026

Welcome to Organic Inquisition. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of organicinquisition.org (the “Website”) and the digital workbook, accounts, content, and other services made available through the Website.

The Website is operated by Kevin Burgess and individuals authorized by him to access and administer Organic Inquisition (“Organic Inquisition,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account or using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not create an account or use the Website.

1. Eligibility and Intended Users

Organic Inquisition is intended primarily for college students, professors, and other individuals using the Website for educational purposes.

By creating an account or using the Website, you represent that you are legally permitted to enter into these Terms under the laws applicable to you.

If you are under the age required to enter into a legally binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you should use the Website only with the involvement and permission of a parent, guardian, or other person who is legally able to agree to these Terms on your behalf, where required by applicable law.

The Website is not directed toward children under 13.

2. User Accounts

An account is required to access the Organic Inquisition digital workbook.

When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate and current information, including your name and email address.

You must verify your email address before accessing the digital workbook.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information when registering

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password

  • Keeping your account information current

  • Taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access to your account

  • Not sharing your account or password with another person

You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless the activity resulted from circumstances outside your reasonable control.

If you believe someone has accessed your account without authorization, please contact us at organicinqusition@gmail.com.

3. Access to the Digital Workbook

An Organic Inquisition account provides access to the digital workbook subject to these Terms.

Currently, access to the digital workbook does not require payment. Users may optionally make a donation through Stripe.

Organic Inquisition may change its access model in the future. For example, we may require users to purchase a subscription or otherwise pay for access to the digital workbook.

If paid access is introduced, the applicable price, subscription terms, and other material payment information will be presented to users before they are required to make a payment, as required by applicable law.

Creating an account does not necessarily guarantee permanent or uninterrupted access to the digital workbook.

We may modify, update, replace, restrict, suspend, or discontinue portions of the Website or digital workbook.

4. Permitted Use of the Digital Workbook

The digital workbook is provided for personal, educational, and authorized instructional use.

Subject to these Terms, you may access and use the digital workbook through the Website for its intended educational purpose.

Unless we have given you written permission, you may not:

  • Copy or reproduce the digital workbook in whole or in substantial part

  • Download, save, or redistribute the digital workbook

  • Share the digital workbook with people who do not have authorized access

  • Upload the digital workbook or portions of it to another website, file-sharing service, learning-management system, social-media platform, or other public or private repository

  • Sell, license, sublicense, or otherwise commercially distribute the digital workbook

  • Create or distribute unauthorized copies, adaptations, or derivative versions of the digital workbook

  • Copy substantial portions of the workbook’s text, questions, diagrams, illustrations, or other content

  • Use the workbook to create or distribute a competing educational product

  • Circumvent technical measures designed to restrict downloading, copying, or unauthorized access

  • Attempt to defeat, disable, remove, or bypass security or access restrictions used by the Website or its PDF viewer

  • Use another person’s Organic Inquisition account to obtain access to the workbook

These restrictions do not prohibit uses that are permitted by applicable law and cannot legally be restricted by contract.

If you are a professor, instructor, institution, or other authorized educational user and would like to use the workbook in a way that is not covered by these Terms, please contact us at organicinqusition@gmail.com.

5. Intellectual Property

The Organic Inquisition Website, digital workbook, and other materials made available through the Website may include text, questions, explanations, diagrams, illustrations, images, designs, software, logos, and other content (collectively, “Content”).

The Content may be owned by Kevin Burgess, Organic Inquisition, or other rights holders who have authorized its use.

All rights in the Content that are not expressly granted to you under these Terms are reserved by the applicable rights holder.

Your use of the Website does not transfer ownership of any Content to you.

You may not use Organic Inquisition’s name, branding, logos, or other identifying materials in a manner that suggests an affiliation or endorsement that has not been authorized.

6. Digital Workbook Security and Access Restrictions

The digital workbook is displayed through a PDF viewer configured to restrict certain functions, including downloading, copying, and right-click access.

These restrictions are intended to protect the workbook and its contents from unauthorized copying and distribution.

You agree not to attempt to circumvent or defeat these restrictions, including through technical means intended to obtain an unauthorized copy of the workbook.

Nothing in this section is intended to prohibit activities that are expressly permitted by applicable law.

7. Difficulty Ratings and Workbook Activity

The digital workbook allows users to rate the difficulty of individual questions.

You may change your difficulty rating by returning to the applicable question.

Difficulty ratings are associated with your account and are used internally to help Organic Inquisition understand how users experience the workbook and identify opportunities to improve it.

You do not receive ownership or other intellectual-property rights in the aggregate data or analysis created from these ratings.

For additional information about how this information is collected and used, please see our Privacy Policy.

8. Issue Reports and Chapter Feedback

The Website allows users to submit issue reports and chapter feedback.

Issue reports may identify problems such as:

  • Typographical errors

  • Unclear explanations

  • Incorrect diagrams

  • Broken links

  • Formatting problems

  • Other problems with the digital workbook

Users may also provide chapter feedback concerning difficulty, clarity, what they liked, what could be improved, and other comments.

You understand that these submissions are associated with your Organic Inquisition account and are not anonymous.

You agree not to submit content that:

  • Is unlawful

  • Threatens or harasses another person

  • Contains malicious code

  • Infringes another person’s intellectual-property rights

  • Contains another person’s private or sensitive information without authorization

  • Is intentionally deceptive or fraudulent

  • Is unrelated to the purpose of the applicable form in a manner that interferes with the Website or its operation

We may review, use, and retain these submissions for purposes including correcting problems, improving the workbook, and maintaining the Website.

9. User-Submitted Content

When you submit feedback, comments, issue reports, or other material through the Website (“User Content”), you retain any ownership rights you may have in that content.

By submitting User Content, you grant Organic Inquisition a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, store, analyze, and otherwise process that User Content as reasonably necessary to operate the Website and improve the digital workbook.

For example, this permission allows us to review an issue report, share it internally with authorized individuals working on Organic Inquisition, and use feedback to improve a chapter.

We will handle personal information contained in User Content according to our Privacy Policy.

10. Donations

Organic Inquisition may allow users to make optional donations through Stripe.

A donation is voluntary and does not currently determine whether you may access the digital workbook.

Donations are processed through Stripe. Organic Inquisition does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.

If the Website’s payment or access model changes in the future, additional payment terms may be presented to you before you complete a required purchase or subscription.

11. Future Paid Access and Subscriptions

Organic Inquisition may in the future require payment or a subscription for access to the digital workbook.

If paid access is introduced, we will provide information about the applicable price, billing arrangement, subscription period, and other material terms before you complete the applicable transaction, subject to applicable law.

Additional terms may apply to paid subscriptions or other purchases.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to eliminate or limit consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

12. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Website and digital workbook may contain links to third-party websites, including YouTube.

Third-party websites operate independently from Organic Inquisition.

Your use of a third-party website is subject to that website’s own terms and privacy policies. Organic Inquisition is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or privacy practices of third-party websites.

The Website also relies on third-party services to provide certain functions, including payment processing, email delivery, website security, backups, and other Website functionality.

13. Website Availability

We work to keep Organic Inquisition available and functioning, but we do not guarantee that the Website or digital workbook will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

The Website may occasionally be unavailable because of:

  • Maintenance

  • Updates

  • Technical problems

  • Security incidents

  • Hosting or service-provider problems

  • Internet or network problems

  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We may also modify or discontinue Website features at any time.

14. Accuracy of Educational Content

Organic Inquisition is intended to provide educational materials.

Although we make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and useful content, we do not guarantee that every piece of information in the Website or digital workbook will always be complete, current, or free of errors.

Users should use their own judgment and, where appropriate, consult their instructor, professor, textbook, primary sources, or other qualified educational resources.

We welcome reports of errors or unclear material through the issue-reporting form.

15. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use the Website to:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations

  • Gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or Website features

  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Website

  • Use the Website in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Website

16. Account Suspension or Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the account-management features provided on the Website or by contacting us at organicinqusition@gmail.com.

We may suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably believe that the account or its use:

  • Violates these Terms

  • Involves unauthorized access or use

  • Involves distribution or copying of protected Content

  • Creates a security risk

  • Involves fraud or other unlawful activity

  • Interferes with the operation of the Website

  • Otherwise presents a significant risk to Organic Inquisition or its users

Where appropriate and reasonably possible, we may provide notice before taking action. We may act without advance notice when necessary to protect the Website, its users, or others, or when required by applicable law.

Termination or suspension does not eliminate obligations or rights that, by their nature, should continue after termination, including provisions concerning intellectual property, User Content, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution.

17. Privacy

Your use of Organic Inquisition is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who may access it, and the privacy rights that may apply to you.

The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

This may include, where legally permitted, loss of data, loss of access, interruption of service, or other indirect losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful or would otherwise be prohibited by applicable law.

20. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Website, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

This section does not apply to the extent that such responsibility cannot legally be imposed under applicable law.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the Website, its features, services, or applicable requirements change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of these Terms.

If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice where required by applicable law.

Your continued use of the Website after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using the Website and may delete your account.

22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the State of Texas, United States, except to the extent that applicable law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive consumers of mandatory rights or protections provided by the laws that apply to them.
